Meet the Team: Kate Brew – Administrative All-Rounder & Scout Leader Extraordinaire

At GMS, we believe it’s the people behind the scenes who make our business truly special. Today, we’re excited to introduce Kate Brew, who has been bringing warmth, efficiency, and a touch of fun to our team for the past 10 months.

Kate’s role may be officially described as handling “admin tasks as required,” but anyone who’s worked with her knows she does so much more. She’s the go-to person for countless day-to-day needs, always stepping in to help ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Whether it’s coordinating paperwork or pitching in wherever needed, Kate does it all with a calm and friendly attitude.

When asked about the best part of working at GMS, Kate doesn’t hesitate:

“The camaraderie and coming together as a team, supporting each other with large and small tasks. Knowing that no matter what question I ask, someone will always be there to answer or turn it into a teaching moment to further my own knowledge and skills.”

That supportive environment is clearly something that resonates deeply with her and reflects how GMS fosters growth and learning across the board.

One standout influence in Kate’s GMS journey has been Kerry:

“She has been there for me from my first day, guiding and supporting me, allowing me to grow into the role and take on more responsibility, knowing that she is always there when I need a hand or a push in the right direction.”

Kerry’s mentorship is a brilliant reminder of how leadership and support go hand in hand here at GMS.

Achievements Beyond the Desk

Outside of work, Kate leads with equal passion. She’s incredibly proud of her Beaver Scouts team:

“My team of Beaver Scouts won the Wigan District Dodgeball Competition for the 3rd year in a row!! They are amazing kids and it’s been a privilege to watch them all grow and develop over the past 7 years.”

What’s even more rewarding? Some of her former Scouts are now returning to support the next generation—a true testament to Kate’s positive influence.

Thanks for everything you do, Kate! Whether it’s in the office or on the dodgeball court, your energy, dedication, and community spirit are truly appreciated.
