Meet the team – Kevan Green

Position: Legionella risk assessor

Time at GMS: Six years in total

“GMS Services has a fantastic reputation in the Legionella business. It’s an excellent SME, very friendly, family run company that punches above its weight.

“I first worked here between 2007 and 2011 and came back again in 2020.  My main role at the moment is Risk Assessing, but I cover all areas as necessary, from servicing to water hygiene. I have also just taken up an exciting new role, training our own staff and external candidates in Legionella Awareness, Duty Holder & Responsible Persons Training & WRAS Training.”

Training and expansion

“Over the years GMS Services has changed a lot. It used to focus on risk assessments, and water hygiene but now the company is doing a lot more remedial and plumbing work for private clients.

“GMS’ focus has always been very local but its reach is now spreading further afield and taking on larger corporate clients.

“When I’m not in work, I’m usually on the football pitch. I’ve become a fairly successful football coach, winning various leagues and cups over a six-year period. I coach my workmate and son Owen Green and enjoy helping him in reaching his dream of playing football at a higher level.

“I’m also a family man – I get great satisfaction in seeing my family grow, become self-sufficient and thrive. I’ve recently become a granddad for the first time!”
