Meet the team – Nik O’Berg

Position: Water hygiene engineer

Time at GMS: 1 year

“I’ve now been at GMS Services for a year. I’m a water hygiene engineer and I’m enjoying the work. It is very varied – no two days are the same.

“I cover a range of jobs from temperature monitoring to the servicing of thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs) expansion vessels, and calorifiers. Basically, I’m there to ensure the water systems are running safely. I’m also involved in the cleaning and disinfecting of water tanks in both commercial and residential properties.

“I’m enjoying being part of the team. There’s lots of banter, for sure, but if I need a bit of help or advice, there’s always someone to turn to.

Always something new

“It’s great to see the business growing. In the short time I’ve been here there have been more members of staff joining and there’s always new tech being introduced to benefit us all – it’s exciting!

GMS Services celebrated 25 years in business this April.
